Water as Renewable Energy

Flowing for 24 hours every day, 365 days a year

Water is a powerful gift of life, but it can also be frightening. There would be no plants, animals and humans in our world without the existence of water. There are also thousands of ecosystems around the river. The presence of water is the key that determines life.

The water rotates, changes shape and is purified every day. And it will always do that as long as people take care of the ecosystem. From our oceans, water evaporates into gas, forms clouds and when the time comes, it rains down to drench our lives.

PT. Mega Energi Hydro Indonesia chooses hydroelectric renewable energy because of its constant nature in generating electrical energy. The challenge is to find good locations that are able to produce a constant flow of water, which should also continue to flow throughout the year, both during the wet or dry season.

Dams provide great benefits to the surrounding community as a whole. They can ensure a year-round availability of water, a reliable and regulated source of agricultural irrigation, and also provide electricity that improves welfare and standard of living.

We do this for a better world. An environment that is free from pollution. Thats because nature belongs to everyone, including present and future generations. It is our duty to pass on the good and repair the damages that have occurred. We care, we start, then nature will pay us dearly.

Sulawesi

Indonesia's Island that Produces Nickel

The metal industry is one of the industrial sectors that requires a lot of electricity. Combined with the cement, food and beverage, fertilizer, ceramic and paper industries, it will consume 87% of the capacity of industry's electricity.

Through the Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources Regulation Number 11 of 2019, a policy of banning the export of raw nickel ore will begin as of January 1, 2021. In other words, nickel must be processed domestically, and can only be sold into finished materials abroad.

There is a plan that 61 new smelters will be built in Sulawesi. More than 7 new industrial areas are under construction on this beautiful island. This is proof of the government's seriousness in managing metals, and building the smelter is one of the efforts for National Vital Objects that gets special attention.

There are 5 strategic locations that PT Mega Energi Hidro Indonesia is currently investigating. Two locations are suitable to be built as hydropower plants and three locations as micro-hydropower plants.

The combination of demand and supply makes planning and transactions possible. And the right location is the key to its success.

We flew to every island, traced every river, measured and analyzed every location. We are always looking for the best combination of investment and profit.

Sumatra

Farming, Plantation and Mining

Sumatra is an island that is rich in natural bounties. It has coal, petroleum, tin, granite and bauxite. The land of Sumatra is also fertile, many of its agricultural and plantation products are exported abroad, such as coffee, palm oil, cocoa, tobacco and rubber. This is Indonesia's second largest island with 58 million inhabitants (2018), and a quarter of the island population are in North Sumatra.

In the western part of the island of Sumatra, there are the Bukit Barisan mountains that stretch for 1,500 km, from one end to another. From a hydrological point of view, such a location is very good for hydroelectric power generation because water supply is abundant at all times.

Phase II of the Sumatra electricity toll line is under construction and is planned to be completed in 2023. This electric toll line is a continuation of Phase I which runs along the Lahat - Lubuk Linggau - Bangko - Muara Bungo - Kiliranjo - Paya Kumbuh - Padang Sidempuan - Sarula - Simangkok - Galang route with a total length of 2,866 circuit kilometers.

PT. Mega Energi Hidro Indonesia has 3 micro-hydro power plant projects located on this island. One location has a capacity of 6 MW, other locations have 8.6 MW and 10 MW.
